Adventure WV
The Adventure WV Program is a unique outdoor orientation for first-year students at WVU. It offers participants diverse experiences and opportunities to learn about themselves, future classmates, WVU, and West Virginia. Participants will earn 3 credits upon successful completion of the program and course work, which is an alternative for University 101 (a required course).

Mission
The Adventure WV program was developed to orient and transition new students for life at WVU. This is accomplished through the use of wilderness to create opportunities for personal developments and friendships. The program is built on quality, fun, and care for the environment.
Goals
- Create a fun and exciting environment that fosters new friendships as well as individual growth
- Develop a positive connection with WVU students, faculty, staff, and the university community
- Ease the transition to college life
- Offer opportunities for leadership, teamwork, and community service with other incoming freshmen
- Enhance interpersonal skills such as trust, communication, acceptance, and social interaction
- Encourage improvement of participant self-awareness, decision making skills, initiative, and self-confidence
- Develop wilderness skills and awareness of outdoor recreational opportunities at WVU
- Improve student retention
The WVU Adventure WV Program is a Permit Holder of the Monongahela National Forest.
